What is DocCalc?
DocCalc is a customized reimbursement calculator. We utilize your insurance payer fee schedules to develop a solution specific to your practice.
How does it work?
After (or during) insurance verification, you'll answer a few questions about the patient's benefits and the services being performed. DocCalc will provide you with detailed information about how your claim should be processed and what the patient will owe. For more information, you may view a video demo of our product.
Don't payer websites do this already?
Some do, but they don't offer the level of detail found with DocCalc. The few payer websites that have this function provide a very brief summary that still leaves many questions for the patient. You are also not able to add non-covered services to the summary, so in some cases you would have to provide multiple estimates to your patient. DocCalc allows you to provide a detailed estimate for all of your patients that includes non-covered services, secondary benefits, and wording that is very easy to understand.
How much does DocCalc cost?
There is an initial cost of $500 for the typical practice and you will pay a monthly maintenance fee for each user. There are discounted rates for users 2-5, and users beyond that are discounted even more. You can find more information on our Pricing page.
How do I get started?
You'll start by completing our Contact form. Once received, we will send you a list of items needed for setup. After your DocCalc is completed, we will provide access details for your users.
What if I don't have my insurance payer fee schedules?
For an additional fee, we can help you obtain your fee schedules from your contracted payers.
Does DocCalc verify insurance?
DocCalc does not verify insurance. Once you have verified the patient's insurance benefits, you will use DocCalc to determine how your claim will be processed and what amount your patient will owe.
How often are fee schedules updated?
Medicare fee schedules are updated every calendar year, and sometimes at certain times throughout the year. Your DocCalc will automatically be updated as these changes take effect.
Commercial fee schedules are updated at various times of the year, and it is the client's responsibility to provide this information to us. Since we are not a party to the contracts you hold with your insurance payers, they will not communicate with us directly. We will update your DocCalc as this information is provided to us.
